The Kura is a music bar lounge in Kinshicho, Tokyo, where DJs play R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Reggae and more.

 

The name Kura comes from a traditional Japanese storehouse where people once kept their most valuable treasures, and we chose it because we hope this bar can become a place where special memories are made and kept as well. 

 

The interior features distinct Japanese-inspired decor, built around the idea of blending Japanese aesthetics with American music culture. Japanese design often carries a sense of calm and quiet beauty, and we found it interesting to contrast that with the vibrant, joyful energy of Hip-Hop and R&B, which inspired us to create this space.
